What Is This Calculator?

Customer Acquisition Cost (CAC) is the total cost of acquiring a new customer, including all marketing and sales expenses. It is a fundamental metric for evaluating business sustainability — your CAC must be lower than your customer lifetime value (LTV) for the business to be profitable.

How to Calculate

To calculate CAC: 1) Sum all marketing expenses (ads, content, tools). 2) Sum all sales expenses (salaries, commissions, tools). 3) Count new customers acquired in the same period. 4) Divide total costs by new customers. Formula: CAC = (Marketing + Sales Costs) / New Customers.

Examples

Example: You spend $10,000 on marketing and $5,000 on sales in Q1, acquiring 30 customers. CAC = $15,000 / 30 = $500 per customer.
